Research conducted by EMSI reveals that the most popular job positions individuals are switching to are Fast Food Cooks, Medical Assistants, Security Guards, Customer Service Representatives and Retail Salespersons. The most common previous positions held by job switchers are Administrative Assistants, Retail Salespersons, Cashiers and Food Preparation workers. For both groups, the healthcare industry is the most common industry to switch to. Regions in the U.S. with the highest rates of job switchers are California, Texas, and Florida. This research is based on detailed profiles of more than 4.2 million job switchers between July 2016 and June 2017. It is important to note that the most popular job positions to switch to may not have been available during the research's timeframe and may not have held true through today's job climate.
