As economic activity slowly begins to return to normal, the job market is showing signs of normalizing. Research from ERE.net has found that new job postings are up 22 percent, a sign that organizations are actively hiring. According to the research, this is despite the current economic downturn due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Industries including finance, IT, and professional services are seeing the highest levels of job postings. Half of the posts on the various job-listing websites used for the research are for remote work, indicating that many organizations are open to virtual labor. Multi-industry staffing firms have also seen an increase in job postings, signaling a more comprehensive return to employment. Despite the slight improvement in pandemic-era job postings, it remains to be seen whether traditional job growth will return to pre-pandemic levels.
