Research Shows Hiring Is Normalizing Instead of Nosediving

As economic activity slowly begins to return to normal, the job market is showing signs of normalizing. Research from has found that new job postings are up 22 percent, a sign that organizations are actively hiring. According to the research, this is despite the current economic downturn due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Industries including finance, IT, and professional services are seeing the highest levels of job postings. Half of the posts on the various job-listing websites used for the research are for remote work, indicating that many organizations are open to virtual labor. Multi-industry staffing firms have also seen an increase in job postings, signaling a more comprehensive return to employment. Despite the slight improvement in pandemic-era job postings, it remains to be seen whether traditional job growth will return to pre-pandemic levels.
