Cracking the Glass Ceiling: Women and Promotions in the Workplace

Despite progress in the quest for gender equality in the workplace, women continue to face significant challenges. Women still broadly earn less than their male counterparts, are less likely to be promoted to positions of senior leadership, and are more likely to experience discrimination at work. In addition to these issues, there is a lack of leave policies for new parents and a gender pay gap continues to exist. To address these issues, companies need to create an environment conducive to gender equality and enact supportive policies, like improved parental leave.
